
Cllr Fionuala Foley was first elected to represent the Old Town & Lawn ward in 2000 alongside Cllr Mike Bawden. They were later joined by Cllr Brian Mattock who won the 3rd seat off the Liberal Democrats.

Fionuala has always fought hard to secure additional local services and facilities for fellow local residents.

Fionuala works extremely hard to make sure local issues are addresses swiftly.

Fionuala has always been a strong voice on local development and planning issues, making sure residents concerns are put forward. Fionuala has also served on the planning committee for a number of years.

As a Cabinet Member, Fionuala has focused on improving customer services for local residents, including setting up the new 'One Stop Shop', with accessible customer services around the clock.

Fionuala a life long Swindonian has always supported regeneration. Fionuala was proud that the Conservative Administration delivered the new £10m Central Library on time and on budget.

Fionuala through her role as a Cabinet Member has led on a number of the recycling improvements including: launching the weekly kerbside scheme, scrapping the £1 green bag collection charge imposed by Labour and adding the plastic kerbside recycling service. Recycling rates have rocketed from just 16% under Labour to a staggering 47% under the Conservatives.

Fionuala works hard for all residents, all of ages.

Fionuala has worked hard to help protect the long-term future of the Old Town library and is now leading on bringing forward plans to incorporate the library into the Arts Centre, with greater access and longer opening hours for local residents.
