05/04/05 - Cllr Tomlinson Ready For The Election

Councillor Justin Tomlinson & Partner Halina

Councillor Justin Tomlinson, North Swindon Conservative Parliamentary Candidate has welcomed the announcement of the forthcoming General Election.

"I am proud to be the local candidate, which I believe is vital for good representation.  If elected I will continue to use local facilities, pay local Council Tax, and I will send my children to local schools.  This way I will always see first hand the local issues that need to be tackled.  I have shown through my work as a Councillor that I have the energy and enthusiasm to roll up my sleevs and make a difference.  I am never afraid to be a strong voice, putting local residents first."

"I am looking forward to a very hard four weeks of campaigning.  Last year in the local elections we secured 47% of the vote, against Labour's 32%, showing there is a real opportunity for a Conservative gain in North Swindon."

"Locally, I will be fighting a positive campaign, focusing on the difference a Conservative Government would make to Swindon."

The main themes of the national campaign are:  lower taxes, controlled immigration, school discipline, cleaner hospitals and more police.
