Cllr Michael Dickinson (Conservative, Central), said: The Conservatives in Swindon have received a surprise boost this week when a Left-leaning website- which is opposed to Tony Blair's style of government, the Iraq war and lies -urgedcity residents who are fed up with Labour to vote Conservative atthe next General Election.

www.backingblair.co.uk says that only theConservatives can beat Labour inboth the Swindon seats and that people should votetactically for the Conservatives to oust Labour.

Michael continued: "I amhappy that we have received this endorsement, but notsurprised. Our Labour MPs have supported Tony Blair over the Iraq War since March 2003,Post Office closures, ID cards and the European Union Constitution.

We already know that former Liberal Democrat supporters, such as myself, are switching to the Conservatives locally and we're confident they'll do the same this time roundto beat Tony Blair'sMPs in Swindon.

Labour has let so many people down and weexpect a close result in the forthcoming election."
