The real cost of a Labour MP

• Labour MPs have put up taxes 66 times – even though Tony Blair promised he had “no plans to raise tax at all”.  Those tax rises have cost families dear. People have seen their pensions destroyed. And what have they got to show for it?
  
• The civil service is now the size of Sheffield – and it’s still growing.
  
• 5,000 people die each year from infections picked up in hospital – more than the number of people killed each year on Britain’s roads.
  
• More than a million violent crimes are committed each year. Gun crime has doubled under Labour.
  
• One in three children leaves primary school unable to write properly.
  
• Immigration and asylum are out of control: immigration has doubled.

That’s the real cost of Labour. And under another Labour Government, taxes would have to go up again to pay for their spending spree - Labour are all talk.

• Liberal Democrat MPs want to raise over 40 new taxes, from taxes on air flights to water bills.
  
• Liberal Democrats need to raise taxes to pay for their spending spree of policies – they have made well in excess of 100 spending commitments.
  
• Their local income tax alone would cost a typical working family in England £630 extra a year and hit local and national businesses with a £100 million a year compliance bill.
