Cllr Chris Van Roon has won!

Chris secured 69% of the vote in the final round of, 'I'am a Councillor, get me out of here!', to be crowned the Youth Champion for Swindon.

This is the second year of this competition which allows the youth of Swindon to vote for their favourite Councillor.  Cllr Chris Van Roon (Conservative, Stratton) beat, Cllr Colin Lovell (Conservative, Moredon), Cllr David Nash (Labour, Central), Cllr Barrie Thompson (Labour, Parks) & Cllr Chris Shephard (Lib Dem, Freshbrook).

Throughout the competition, school children bombarded the Councillors with questions on issues they felt were important, ranging from Leisure Facilities through to Iraq.

Conservatives have won this competition both times, with last year's winner Cllr Justin Tomlinson a Conservative for Abbey Meads, and now the North Swindon Conservative Parliamentary candidate.

Labours Failed Student Policies Helped Their Group Leader

Labour have imposed tution fees on students.
