After Labour's unacceptable 32% hike in just 2 years, Swindon Conservatives are determined to fight for a fair and affordable Council Tax.
Whilst Labour and their Lib Dem chums, 'spend, spend, spend...' we like all families understand the need for basic good housekeeping, which means the books have to balance.
We have set up a special budget strategy task group in Swindon Borough Council. It will study the entire Swindon Borough Council accounts. Stratton Conservative Councillor Ray Fisher, who is the Finance Director of Arkells Brewery is a leading figure on this task group. After years of Labour waste and mismanagment, close and careful scrutiny of the figures will help deliver savings for the long suffering Council Tax payer. It is unacceptable that the Labour and Lib Dems don't take this task group seriously, repeatadly attacking the need for this group in the Council Chamber.
Local residents simply can not afford the endless Council Tax hikes voted through by Labour and the Lib Dems.
It is only the Conservatives who will deliver a fair and affordable Council Tax.
