Liberal Democrats rhetoric on becoming a majority political party was torn apart today as Conservatives dissected their loony policies on law and order by issuing a dossier highlighting LibDems official policies which include:
· Giving all convicted prisoners the right to vote in elections.
· Abolishing life sentences for repeat rapists and for murderers.
· Allowing burglars to escape jail.
· Legalising cannabis and prostitution.
· Allowing personal use of any drug at home including crack cocaine.
At the same time, Liberal Democrats would criminalise millions of Britons via:
· Introducing a public smoking ban.
· Banning smacking (outlawing parents use of reasonable chastisement).
· Increasing the number of speed cameras.
Leading the attack, David Davis MP, Shadow Deputy Prime Minister, remarked,
The Liberal Democrats party conference is ripping the facade of moderation off
At the same time, Liberal Democrats would criminalise millions of Britons by outlawing smoking in public, banning parents from ever smacking unruly children and erecting thousands more speed cameras across Britains roads.
No wonder the Liberal Democrats want to give prisoners the right to vote the only support they will find from their soft-on-crime policies is if they go knocking on the doors of Her Majestys prisons.
North Swindon Conservative Councillor, Debbie Baylies joined in the condemnation of the Lib Dems plans for crime,
"When I was elected to represent the residents of St. Philips, it was clear to me that the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour was a real issue of concern. I am horrified that the Lib Dems have given up on the law abiding majority, putting the criminal minority first. They should be ashamed of themselves."
