In reference to Andy Harrison's letter about Lady Lane (November 8), I was amazed to see his despicable comments on the way Dr Owen Lister's group vote on such matters.
As Andy Harrison is the newly selected Labour candidate for Penhill, perhaps he should concentrate on his own group's record of voting. Without fail, the Labour group in Swindon vote blindly en masse, like lemmings jumping off a cliff.
If one of the Labour councillors had been able to muster up an ounce of independent thought, we as a town would not have had to endure the endless list of Labour failures on Education and Social Services.
I think Dr Lister's example of putting local views first should be commended, and let's hope the people of Penhill are not fooled into voting for yet another pointless Labour puppet when Andy is put forward as the Labour candidate.
